All India Institute of Medical Science conducts Institute of National Importance Super Speciality (INI-SS) twice in a year. It is an entrance examination for the post doctoral courses in AIIMS Delhi and other AIIMS, PGIMER, NIMHANS, JIPMER and SCTIMST. The application procedure for the examination will start from 22 April 2025 where eligible candidates will able to submit their details in the portal. The department will conduct two phases of selection procedure in this entrance exam.

What is INI SS Examination?

The Institute of National Importance Super Specialty examination represents a unified entrance test for admission to DM/MCh/Fellowship programs at prestigious institutions including AIIMS (All India Institutes of Medical Sciences), JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research), NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences), PGIMER (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research), and SCTIMST (Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology).

This centralized examination streamlines the admission process for candidates aspiring to pursue super specialty courses, eliminating the need to appear for multiple entrance examinations at different institutes.

Important dates of AIIMS INI SS July 2025

The AIIMS exam is the organization in charge of administering the INI SS exam. The short advertisement of the examination was released on 8 April 2025. Application procedure for the examination will start from 22 April 2025. Candidates can complete their registration on the page from the scheduled time, However the deadline to submit the application is 6 May 2025. So after the 5:00 p.m. on 6 may 2025, you will not able to complete your registration on the page.

However the date of the examination is not released yet but it is expected to conduct the exam in June 2025 and authority will declare the result of the examination by July 2025, so eligible qualified students will be able to get admission in post doctoral courses according to their rank. 

Eligibility criteria

Candidates are required to complete the eligibility condition to appear in the entrance examination of INI SS by AIIMS in July 2025. The list of the detailed eligibility is mentioned below:

• The candidate who have completed MD or MS Degree in the specific field with experience in the desirable field in recognised hospitals are able to apply for the course of DM/ M.Ch.
• If you want to apply for the Hospital management – MD course then you can still apply after completing your MBBS from any recognised institute in the country and should have at least 3 year experience in hospital.
• There is no minimum age criteria but the maximum age of the applicant should not be more than 45 years old for PGIMER, Chandigarh.

• Apart from the above age criteria, individuals belongs to reserve categories will get 3 years to maximum 10 years age relaxation accordingly.

The application fees

Candidates are required to pay the application fees of 4250 rupees for the entrance examination of INI SS AIIMS. It is the general fees to all the students who are willing to Appear in the entrance examination. However candidates belongs to PWD category exempted to pay the application fees. Application will be submitted through online mode on the official website while finalizing your application form. So you are required to pay your application fees before the deadline otherwise your application from will not be submitted.
